Industry - Institute Linkages

JGI is proactive in Industry-Institute Partnership addressing all aspects, which enhances networking between academia and industry . The institute maintains a sustained relationship with companies to expose the students to the realms of the corporate environment.

The primary focus of the institute is to provide students with excellent education relevant to the present and emerging industry requirements. For this purpose the industry linkage is an important factor and this is in-built into the curriculum. Some of the steps taken in this direction are:

  • Linkages with the Community

    Students are encouraged to become members of Professional Bodies and the school is also a corporate member of a number of such bodies. Students are also encouraged to form student chapters of Social Forums like Rotract Club and Social Responsibility Forums through which they are channelized to work for the community .
  • Linkages with Professional Bodies

    The chapters and students' chapters of several national and international professional bodies are established at JGI and are organizing various activities. This includes IEEE, ISTE, IICHE, ISTD, ISME, IETE, PMI etc.

The Institution of Engineers (India) is the national organization of engineers in India. The Institution of Engineers (India) has more than one million members in 15 engineering disciplines in 114 centers or chapters in India and overseas; it is the world‘s largest multi-disciplinary engineering professional society in engineering and technology world. The Institution of Engineers (India) was established in 1920 in Kolkata, West Bengal and is acclaimed to have pioneered non-formal education in engineering. The Institution of Engineers (India) was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1935. It is currently headquartered in 8 Gokhale Road, Kolkata - 700020.

The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), was founded in 1981 at New Delhi by a group of eminent HVAC&R professionals. ISHRAE today has more than 12,000 HVAC&R professionals as members and additionally there are 7,500 Student-members. ISHRAE operates from 41 Chapters and sub Chapters spread all over India, with HQ in Delhi. It is led by a team of elected officers, who are members of the Society, working on a voluntary basis, and collectively called the Board of Governors.

The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India´s leading recognised professional society devoted to the advancement of Science and Technology of Electronics, Telecommunication & IT. The objectives of IETE focus on advancing electro-technology. The IETE conducts and sponsors technical meetings, conferences, symposia, and exhibitions all over India, publishes technical journals and provides career advancement opportunities

The Indian Society for Technical Education is a national, professional, non-profit making Society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. ISTE effectively contributes in various missions of the Union Government. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, CTE/DST/MIT/State Govts. are well associated with the ISTE for programs relating to technical education.

The mission of the CSI is to facilitate research, knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement for all categories of IT professionals, while simultaneously inspiring and nurturing new entrants into the industry and helping them to integrate into the IT community. The CSI is also working closely with other industry associations, government bodies and academia to ensure that the benefits of IT advancement ultimately percolate down to every single citizen of India.

IEEE is the world´s largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community through IEEE's highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities.

IEEE's core purpose is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.

SAE International is a global body of scientists, engineers, and practitioners that advances self-propelled vehicle and system knowledge in a neutral forum for the benefit of society.

Campus Connect at JIET Universe is Infosys initiative to help increase JIETians competitiveness in the knowledge economy. Campus Connect aims at evolving a model for competitiveness, enhance the pool of highly capable talent for growth requirements in the IT space. It helps in creating an effective means of backward integration into the supply chain from where the IT industry gets the people for its growth.

The Spoken Tutorial project is the initiative of the “Talk to a Teacher” activity of the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT), launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India. To Get More Information Click Here
